This is a 6 month position that is responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the 
Camp Cherith - Ontario site. The person filling this position will work under the authority of the Executive Director and will provide leadership in the overall management of the camp facility.

General purpose: To work with the Executive Director and Director to ensure the property and camp facilities are well maintained: to oversee projects and the opening and closing of camp facilities, and to uphold the purpose, philosophy, objectives, goals, and standards of Camp Cherith – Ontario.

Spiritual purpose: Camp Cherith is to function as a unified spiritual organism rather than as a collection of independent persons filling positions. The spiritual objectives of camp will only be achieved as each employee and volunteer consistently lives out their evangelical Biblical faith. The employees and volunteers are the spiritual center of camp; therefore, a profession of faith in Christ, obedience to Biblical standards, and a quality of Christ-likeness are required from this employee.

 Possess a valid driver’s licence
 Able to lift heavy loads and have no physical limitations that would hinder job performance
 Be able to be on Camp property intermittently from April to June and September through October
 Be on Camp property full time from mid-June to early-September 

 Must have or be willing to obtain a current Water Operations Trained Personnel Certificate
and take the Practical Training for Small Drinking Water Systems for Owners and Operators course
 Ontario Health and Safety certified
 WHMIS certified
 Possess basic computer skills
 General knowledge of construction and /or mechanical trades
 Ensure the philosophy and integrity of Camp Cherith are maintained while employed
 Service responsibilities - water, sewer, hydro, propane, garbage and recycling, security
 Fire extinguisher maintenance schedule
 Road maintenance
 Kitchen and related equipment maintenance
 On and off-site operation of vehicles
 Upkeep of all facilities
 Housekeeping: wash houses, dining hall floors, garbage removal etc.
 Building repairs
 Locksmithing an asset
 Play structures upkeep
 Waterfront and pool upkeep
 Grounds-keeping and related equipment maintenance
 Assist with leadership of the spring crew to prepare camp
 Train and supervise the summer maintenance staff
 Maintain a neat and organized Quonset hut (service-building) and inventory
 Prepare and maintain the facilities’ safety check lists and maintenance schedules
 Maintain and update all MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) forms
 Prepare a season’s end facilities report to be submitted to the Executive Director who will submit any pertinent information to the Board of Directors
 Be fiscally responsible to the Camp Cherith property budget
 Be willing to perform tasks other than those outlined, if requested by the Executive Director

 Be supportive of and communicate regularly with the Executive Director 
 Prioritize maintenance and program requests from Support staff: Division Directors, Program Director, Activity Coordinator, and Waterfront
 Maintain a system of records to facilitate and support the position’s responsibilities 
 Be willing to sign a Camp Cherith Staff Agreement
 Be willing to sign the Camp Cherith Statement of Faith
 Room and board is provided when on the property
