Description and Mission

The purpose that has fuelled our passion since 1927 is that: "We present the Gospel, to those having the least opportunity to hear of Christ and especially to children and youth, and we disciple believers for living and serving through His Church"

Dorion Bible Camp aims to create a dynamic environment that enhances the lives of children and youth. We are building a camp that offers a wide range of new experiences and activities in the outdoors and nature. We take every precaution to ensure the environment will be safe and nurturing. Our plan involves a diverse array of biblical values, support, fun, games, sporting, cultural and leadership opportunities that will foster the all-round development of children and youth.

Program Information & Activities Offered

Camp Dorion has been in the community and had a heart for children and youth since 1946. We aim to build character through the message of the gospel and recreational activities. We aim to develop young people socially, mentally, physically and spiritually in a safe, fun environment.

We have a year-round lodge, called Eagles Nest. The camp boasts beautiful trails, a gentle creek ideal for canoeing, a wonderful swimming stretch along Black Bay with access ramp and shallow swimming area, indoor activity hall for games and crafting, the largest climbing wall in Northern Ontario and perfect areas for paintball and archery.

Facility Information

This is a single building with three stories. On the upper level, there are 10 rooms, two showers and four washrooms. Middle level is the Kitchen Dining hall, two washrooms, one bath/shower, and one semi-accessible room. On the lower level is a multi-purpose activity room, Laundry, lounge, 1 washroom and sauna.

Eagles Nest and Camp Dorion is nestled between the trees on the bank of Black Bay. Cold water creek gently runs into Black Bay on the one corner of the property.
The conference centre is 85 km from Thunder Bay along Highway 11-17 (between Thunder Bay and Nipigon). The lodge is fully winterised, available in all seasons.
The property boasts beautiful trails, an ideal location for canoeing, swimming, hiking, climbing, archery, games and crafting. We also boast the highest outdoor climbing wall in Northern Ontario.
In winter our trails are great for cross-country skiing, snow shoeing and ice fishing. Nature is on our door step with incredible bird life, rustling trees, wild flowers, succulent raspberry and strawberry plants grow wild, water everywhere and many other special finds. You will often see deer and other wildlife scurrying the grounds.
We can assist you with adventure activities, subject to prior arrangement and availability of instructors.
