Located in Beaverton ON, Fair Havens Ministries is a Christian, non-profit organization which is comprised of a summer Family Camp, Retreat Centre, Outdoor Christian Education Centre, as well as a Youth Discipleship program. 

Our mission is to host and facilitate ‘life changes experiences to the glory of God’ through the provision of a conference and retreat centre along with biblically based programming in support of the Kingdom vision God has given us.

Our staff and volunteer community will provide a clearly defined level of quality service, anticipating the needs of our guests and consistently over delivering on promised services. 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join Fair Havens and work alongside Executive Chef, Andrew Schroeder in leading our kitchen team. We are looking to create a positive atmosphere that welcomes everyone’s ideas and initiatives. We believe in working together as a team to provide our guests with a quality experience. You will be responsible for insuring quality preparation and execution of menu items served as well as monitoring and organizing the flow of activity in the kitchen.

• To participate in menu planning, new menu items, ordering and inventory 
• To ensure that all staff are correctly dressed to satisfy statutory requirements 
• To ensure a clean and organized work environment with emphasis on safe food handling as set forth by the Regional Health department 
• Ensure food and equipment are properly handled and stored
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members and leaders.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others, accept direction and constructive criticism, effectively multitask, and maintain consistent attendance and punctuality
• Maintain and supervise good housekeeping practices in all areas in the kitchen including store rooms, fridges and freezers

• Degree or Diploma in Culinary or hospitality management is an asset.
• Minimum of 2 years relative experience in the hospitality industry
• Food Handlers Certification is an asset 
• Experience with Excel and Word an asset 
• Advanced knife skills required 
• Demonstrated passion for food with a creative mind 
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Strong decision making abilities
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work standing and walking for extended periods of time
This position is full time/seasonal with hourly starting wage of $14.00. Candidates must be willing to have flexible schedules and must be willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays. During the months, December to February, shifts in Guest Services or Maintenance may be scheduled.
