Camp Cook
● Reports to the camp director, working alongside the camp staff
● Full time during the summer for a staff of approximately fifty, and for larger overnight camp
groups
● Part time during the off season (for weekend retreats and special events)
● Oversees the preparation and serving of food at camp
Responsibilities
● Menu planning for balanced meals, food purchasing, and receiving of deliveries
● Managing volunteers and staff; ensuring proper hygiene practices
● Food preparation, and dining room management
● Complying with Ontario Health and Safety regulations in the kitchen and dining areas
Skills & Qualifications
● Food Handler Certificate
● Well organized: able to plan appropriate menus and order accordingly
● Able to steward camp resources well; including price comparison and leftover usage
● Good time management
● Experience cooking for large groups is an asset
● Able to work well with and serve those who are on camp grounds
Remuneration & Benefits
● An onsite room is available for the summer season and weekends
● An annual salary is provided, but should not be the motivation!
