Camp Day - Camps

What You Need to Know to Make Camp Days Successful

Hello! Hopefully you have already contacted about how to get involved and are now here looking for further information. If not, there are a few things to know:

1. Submissions for the slideshow are closed,

2. You can still be involved without being included in the slideshow

3. You must contact before joining the zoom call so we can know how to add your camp to our generator.

4. Please arrive 15 minutes early to the zoom calls so we can have you in your breakout room ready to accept students.

When students join the zoom call, they will be greeted by Sharon Fraess, our National Director, who will have a short introduction and explanation of what a summer at camp may be like. Interspersed we will run the slideshow presentation (which has already been sent to colleges) and play ice breaker games.

Your camp will be given a number upon your entrance 15 minutes early to the zoom call. The breakout room you run will be labelled with the number and your camp name.

Students will add the number of the camp they are interested in speaking with to their name in zoom. After they have done this, Sharon will send the students to the breakout room coordinating with the number in their name.

What you should be prepared for:

You should be prepared to answer questions - This is an interview for your camp. Students are coming into your 'room' with the intent to find somewhere to work. It is best to assume they know nothing about your camp or what your summer looks like. Share it with them! We have no shortage on passion and love for our camps - now is the time to show that.

You should know how many positions you are hiring for - We anticipate a hundred students or more. (One college involved has over 4000 students). We cannot know how many will come to see your camp, but our goal for the Camp Days is that you would find your future staff. They will likely ask how many positions you have open and what those positions entail.

You should have somewhere/someone to direct interested students to - As our goal is to find staff for camps, you should be prepared that students will genuinely want to apply for positions at you camp. You should know where you are directing them or to whom. (For instance, your website - specifically the section for applications)

If you have any further questions or concerns, please email us at We look forward to seeing you virtually this Tuesday (the 16th).
