General Director, Ontario Pioneer Camp, Port Sydney, ON (Posted 04/03/23)
Are you an energetic leader who loves developing and empowering a team to accomplish a mission? Do you long to help children, youth and young adults encounter God and grow as disciples?
If you answered yes, we’d love to meet you and discern together if God is calling you to this role.
An experienced and committed team of full time staff currently steward Pioneer Ontario, supported by InterVarsity staff serving in national roles and hundreds of seasonal staff and volunteers.
InterVarsity’s oldest and largest camp, the Muskoka site spans 1200 acres and two beautiful lakes. Our mission is to provide fun, creative and adventurous experiences where children, youth and young adults encounter God and grow in faith. God’s Word, creation and community are key components.
In the summer, we welcome 2000 - 2500 campers aged from 5 to 15. They begin at Adventure Camp, then move on to Boys or Girls Camp. At age 15, many join our Leaders In Training program and begin serving on staff. Our Special Needs and Workpro programs integrate campers who require additional support into our full camp experience. Family Camps provide a place and space for families to come away together for a few days of fun and relaxation.
In spring, fall and winter we serve upwards of 20,000 guests from schools, churches and other organizations. Our Gap Year program provides faith and leadership training to young adults from across Canada and the world.
Pioneer Ontario has a significant network of alumni, friends and ministry partners who have poured themselves and their resources into this part of God’s mission. We are grateful for our history and excited about the future.
