The Children’s Camp Manager is responsible for the oversight, coordination and development of Pleasant Bay Children’s Camp activities and facility use during the summer camping season, in collaboration with the PBC board. The Manager will also facilitate and supervise rental of Children’s Camp during the camping season.

Responsibilities include:
● Work with staff, board and volunteers to plan, develop, manage and coordinate summer programs, providing training and ensuring safety and child protection
● Assign staff responsibilities, hire, train, mentor and discipline staff
● Oversee the health and safety, spiritual growth, mentoring and discipline of campers
● Oversee the daily coordination and operations of Children’s Camp, including budgeting, schedules, programming, dining room and kitchen operations, and health and safety
● Develop a budget and track finances in collaboration with PBC board member, maintaining all required records and reports
● Liaise with and report to the PBC board, work in collaboration with the Children’s Camp Committee of PBC board members and volunteers
● Communicate with PBC board, staff, parents, campers and local churches, including maintaining Children’s Camp website and social media
● Develop and maintain publicity and marketing to promote Children’s Camp in collaboration with the Children’s Camp Committee
● Plan for COVID-19 guideline compliance with camp nurse and Public Health. Ensure health and safety as per CCOHS_CCHST(WHMIS), including Incident Reports when needed, with medical reporting in coordination with camp nurse
Coordinate maintenance of facilities, grounds and equipment with Maintenance Manager
● Develop and administer policies, procedures and safety rules
● Maintain staff and camper confidentiality at all times except in circumstances that are necessary for
specific staff/volunteers to be aware of needs and permission from parent/guardian has been
● Recruit experienced adult volunteers
● Facilitate and supervise Children’s Camp rental in coordination with the Administrations/Operations Manager and Children’s Camp Liaison

The ideal candidate will have:
● Personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to building Christian community
● A passion for working with children and youth
● Strong leadership skills including planning, organizing and administration, conflict resolution and strong communication skills
● 3+ years of experience working with children and youth, running programs and working at
summer camps

All staff must be in agreement with the Pleasant Bay Camp statement of faith. The successful candidate will
provide a Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check.

Salary Range
$900.00 - $1,000.00 per week plus room and board for full time, pro-rated for part-time hours

Contract Dates
Part-time: February to May, approx. 10 hours/week (negotiable)
Full-time: June 1 to September 4, 2021
*Note the Camp Manager will need to be on site at PBC beginning June 1.
